Lakesaver Water Aeration & Circulation

The problems of algae are minimised by the use of a Lakesaver System

Algae are the "weeds" of the water garden. Whether the problem is pea soup coloured water, thick carpets of green hair, or floating globs of olive slime, algae is unsightly and can cause many problems.

Wherever there is standing water, light, warmth and nutrients, algae will soon gain a foothold. Unfortunately, a small amount of algae is almost always unavoidable.

The Biostat Lakesaver system can do many things to minimise the problems of algae and odour in water

It uses a system of continuous water aeration which can benefit water in a number of ways: it reduces or eliminates the need for emergency aeration and water exchange; it reduces the build up of ammonia, blue green algae and sludge; keeps oxygen near the bottom of the pond, where it reduces nutrient cycling.

We have found through our research that proper aeration can greatly improve every aspect of a pond or lake.

Fine bubble diffused aeration produces a vertical rotating water motion. This motion creates a momentum which produces mass movement of a large volume of water.

We estimate that the entire water volume in an average pond can be recirculated every 10 minutes with the Biostat Lakesaver system.

LONG LIFE - LOW MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT

Lakesaver delivers air into water. Air is supplied with one of our wide range of oil free compressors and a series of multi outlet air distribution lines anchored to the bottom of the water body.

Lakesavers are rated for continuous use and deliver air at the rate of 81ps - 171ps. Air distribution lines of up to 75 metres in length are usually placed between 15-20 metres apart.

Lakesaver conserves energy by NOT throwing water in the air

The Biostat Lakesaver system has a compressor and control system situated on shore where there is a power supply. An air line system is installed around the bottom of the water body.

The line releases small bubbles of air in a controlled even fashion. The columns of air bubbles rising from the lake bottom forces oxygen depleted water to the surface where is picks up oxygen and returns it to the bottom.

Fine bubble diffused aeration is a very efficient process.

However, equally important is that it produces excellent mixing and movement of water which reduces the potential development of anaerobic sediment, improves water quality and stabilises the environment.

The efficiency of fine bubble aeration is very high in comparison with other aeration and circulation systems
