What is BoreVac

A group of micro-organisims commonly called iron and sulphate reducing bacteria cause a chemical change in the water they infect. These changes, mostly to do with iron, cause water pumps, pipes and boreholes to be clogged with a brown or black slimy material. Sometimes there is a bad odour from the water that smells like rotten eggs or sewage. Other bacteria in this group are responsible for floating slime in water storage tanks. These microbes are not usually regarded as a human health hazard; however the conditions they create in the water system can provide a home for organisms that do
cause human illness.

BoreVac has been specially formulated to combat all the problems associated with these forms of bacteria. With regular use BoreVac controls the unwanted bacteria in your well, borehole and water storage tank. BoreVac is the first in this type of treatment available.

BoreVac is used by mixing a measured amount into a four or five litre bucket, fill remainder with water. With pump in the off position pour the solution into the treatment area. Borehole treatment, pour into the space between the inside of the bore casing and the outside of the rising main (discharge pipe). Pour 1 or 2 buckets of plain water into the bore after treatment to ensure the chemical reaches the area for treatment. Leave the pump off for 12 hours after treatment to allow contact time with bacteria. Pump to waste for 1-2 minutes after this time if water is used directly from the bore or well for drinking purposes. Regular use of BoreVac will control the problems caused

by Iron bacteria. As a guide treat the problem every two to four weeks or treat symptomatically.

Bacteria in water storage tanks can easily be controlled by the use of BoreVac. At the concentrations recommended treatment will be complete and the water will be safe to use for periods up to three months or longer with a single treatment. If additional water is added to the tank after
treatment, more BoreVac may be necessary.

Algae in water storage tanks is rapidly controlled by the use of BoreVac. Mix a measured amount of BoreVac into a bucket and pour or spray evenly across the surface of the water body for treatment. Wait 12 hours before use.

High level clogging – 100mL per 100L bore water
Moderate clogging – 100mL per 200L bore water

Algae Control in Storage Tanks:

Disinfection of stored water:
